This type of lodging provided both food and room to travelers and locals and is often a focal point of the community.The concept of The Orchid Lodge is not unlike that of the traditional Bed & Breakfast. An onsite manager is the primary operator of the Bed and Breakfast who will be there to insure the comfort of all guests and be available to answer any questions and to satisfy any special requests. Each guest's room will include the ambiance of a European getaway with all the necessities life may require.Along with a gorgeous bedroom with full shower/bath, our guests will also enjoy the comforts of home/office including cable TV, telephone and internet access.Our guest will not only feel relaxed in our Bed and Breakfast, but will also feel as if part of a family, with common areas for guest to intermingle with one another and discuss everything from Stock Market results to the cool things do in Costa Rica. Each evening, out on our beautiful veranda or out by the pool, our guests shall enjoy complimentary wine and cheese during our social hour. This inviting feature presents a great opportunity for our guests to get to know one another as well as our staff to answer questions on life in Heredia, San Jose, and Costa Rica, alike. The magnificent 500 Sq. foot veranda of The Orchid Lodge offers unparalleled views of the gardens, the neighboring coffee fields, San Jose and the entire Central Valley of Costa Rica creating the perfect ambiance for our plans to open a wine bar in the future. With the featuring of fine wines paired with mouth watering hors d'oeuvres and culinary delights set in a relaxing atmosphere, the wine bar is sure to attract a crowd!   The options for breakfast at The Orchid Lodge include a full European style breakfast consisting of fresh breads, fruit, cereal, yogurt, juices and tea, espresso or cappuccino or our full service dining available for a minimal additional cost. Each morning the guest will arise to the smell of freshly brewed coffee from Britt Coffee plantation and homemade breads delivered or baked daily. They may join us in the dining room served by our friendly wait staff. In our dining area, guests may sit quietly to get ready for the day or join others at a table to enjoy our western style breakfast with fresh eggs served as they like, breads, scones and muffins and assortment of sausages, hams and cheeses. This also includes favorites like pancakes and French toast, or whatever specialty the chef prepares that day, the Orchid Lodge way! After breakfast, we will continue to offer complimentary coffees and teas throughout the day. At The Orchid Lodge we want each guest to feel welcomed, relaxed and as if they were staying with a dear friend.The Orchid Lodge, with its upscale and romantic surroundings, will provide a variety of guests with high quality service. The area also boasts the Braulio Carillo and Tapanti National Park which are each packed with wildlife. The Sarapiqui River runs through the province which creates excellent kayaking and rafting excursions. Not to mention that with San Jose only 10k south, tourists have easy access to and from the airport.    Our Concierge services will ensure that guests can see Costa Rica in a safe and efficient manner. Working closely with experienced local guides, we will arrange and organize daily tours for our guests using only the most reliable sources. To compliment these excursions, guests also have the option of purchasing homemade lunches for the day.
