The Snow Finally Arrived

Posted by camptoninn in Untagged

It came late this year, but when it decided to come, it came!  11 lovely inches of snow perfect for skiing!  All 11 inches came in about 6 to 7 hours with snow falling at a rate of 1.5 inches or more per hour!  Needless to say, yesterday was a very busy day, shovelling, snowblowing and keeping the fires burning.  Now, on to the Christmas decorations!

OMG Pumpkin Waffles

Okay, I admit, I've been on a bit of a pumpkin kick lately.  In my defense, it is the time of year for them lol.  I've been making pumpkin breads, pumpkin scones and pumpkin cookies for the Farmer's Market.  A few days ago I came across a recipe for pumpkin waffles.  You know I just had to try them.  Had two young men staying last evening so I decided to use them as my taste testers this morning.  OMG is all I can say.  They cooked up beautifully, they smelled wonderful and not only did I like them, but T&S thought they were the bees knees.  Okay, they had different words but I can't publish that here :)  The youth of today have little to no imagination when it comes to language you understand.

Thinking I might publish it on this blog, but think I will wait until after the Holiday Weekend, just in case . . . .

Rain, rain go away

I sit here watching it rain, yet again, and wait for the sun to pop out.  They say that when it does stop raining we are due very high winds, oh my!  I'm afraid the little leaves will not be able to hold onto the trees LOL.  I am sure Mother Nature will leave more than enough on the trees to delight even the pickiest of leaf peepers.  Hope to see you soon!

October Already

Well, it has been a fast year and I cannot believe that October is upon us already.  The Summer got off to such a slow start with lots of cold and rain this Spring and even into the beginning of the Summer.  I don't think I remember a colder and wetter June.  Some bits of the garden loved it and others suffered but I guess that is just the way of it all.  Now Autumn is upon us and the rain has shown one benefit, wonderful foliage.  The hills are alive with glorious color and the days are bright and sunny while the nights are starry and crisp.  Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones during this busy time of the year.
