A former jailhouse in southern Minnesota is gaining national attention after being featured on ABC's Good Morning America.

The Jailhouse Inn, which is a bed and breakfast in Preston, has been named one of the top unusual vacation accommodations.

Welcome to the Jailhouse Inn.
"It's a room that you want to spend maybe a night or 2 in, but not a couple of years," says Jeanne Sather, owner of Jailhouse Inn.

This former Fillmore County jailhouse in Preston was built in the late 1800's and later turned into a bed and breakfast.

Some guest rooms were converted from a former jail cell, a drunk tank used to sober up criminals, and a courtroom.

"This room was used almost everyday for either court purposes during the week or jail related activities," says Marc Sather, owner of Jailhouse Inn.   Now it's gaining national attention from ABC's Good Morning America for it's unique accommodations.

"It feels pretty good, you never think you're going to get that kind of recognition," says Jeanne.

The Sathers say their phones have been ringing busy ever since.

"We've had calls this morning from the East Coast, so we've had oh I'd say half a dozen calls specifically as a result that we know of from that show," says Jeanne.

Giving them an economic boost during this tough economic climate.

"Couldn't have come at a better time," says Jeanne.

The recognition from GMA doesn't come as a shock to their guests.

"In all of the places we've stayed this will be one of the most unique, so it's not a surprise that it is on an national show," says Daniel Raustadt.
The owners say this is a type of advertisement money can't buy, for a bed a breakfast they say is worth going to jail for.

An original cell block allows you to sleep behind bars in two queen-size beds with companion whirlpool bath. A privateentrance off of a porch.
